Visit From Uncle Mike

Dear Quinn,
Last night was the most fun.  Your Uncle Mike (my brother) got a new job in the city and came over to join us for dinner.  You gave him big smiles and climbed all over him.  He was very impressed by your mobility and curiosity as he watched you climb up onto the couch and dip your fingers into Daddy's water glass.  He put his beer bottle behind his back to keep you away from it, but learned very quickly that you are much too smart for that now. 

After playtime we all sat down for family dinner.  The adults had Mexican lasagne and guacamole, and you had a half of an avocado and puffs.  You mashed it up with your hands and rubbed it all over your face and hair.  You were so covered with avocado that your bathwater turned green. 

We had fun showing Uncle Mike how you like to sit on the side of the sink, dip your feet into the water and splash. 

After your bath, he came upstairs with us to get you ready for bed.  You showed him how good you are at doing all of the activities in Pat the Bunny (except for smelling the flowers - you don't like that page.)

I remember reading the very same book to him when he was a baby, so it was so special to have him there while I read it to you. 

I'm so happy that you'll get to spend more time with him.
